Health Coaching for Claustrophobia

Recently a client asked me about ways to decrease claustrophobia. In doing some research in the Medline online database, I found that for many people several things contribute to a sense of claustrophobia, including feeling trapped, thoughts of suffocation and fearing loss of control. A number of studies show that guided imagery, cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnotherapy and self-applied acupressure help people overcome their claustrophobia. Time Travel for Health Coaches: Imagining Ourselves into a Better Future

The seconds tick by one at a time, whether we pay attention or not. When we bring conscious awareness to our relationship with time we join other time travelers in visiting the past and the future. We are unique among animals in our ability to travel forwards and backwards in time. It is an ability that develops around the age of four. A healthy brain, particularly the hippocampus, can increase our ability to freely remember the past and envision the future.
